Islamic Wedding Planning Thai – Muslim Wedding Specialist

We provide consulting and planning for weddings between a bride or groom who was previously Buddhist and a Muslim partner. We design the sequence of the Islamic wedding ceremony, oversee the running of the Islamic wedding on the day, and help resolve any issues that may arise both before and during the event — drawing on close to 10 years of wedding planning experience, 90% of which has involved couples from two different religions.

The Specialist service differs from a private nikah in that our team takes care of the couple according to details that the couple themselves choose, with our team providing consultation and running the event on the day, whereas a private nikah is more of a ready-made, pre-designed package.
Our work is divided into two parts: consultation before the wedding day, and overseeing the wedding on the day itself.

Consultation and planning before the wedding day

Our wedding-planning consultation is structured as a series of 6 workshops, held both online and offline. Each workshop covers different processes to help the couple prepare for a wedding bringing together two religions, covering general risk management as well as management of the various functions involved.

Part of the consultation includes helping align the couple’s understanding of an Islamic wedding, particularly one involving two different religions, so both partners share the same picture — something that’s essential to settle first, before moving on to the next steps. For example, we explain what the first step should be once two people from different religions decide to marry — a first step that differs for the groom and the bride.  The consultation highlights what matters most for each side, helps prioritize the various considerations, and provides essential background information such as where to study the religion if desired,  how to carry oneself and adjust, questions the couple may be hesitant to ask their elders, things to be mindful of, and working through any concerns weighing on either side’s mind — all so the couple is ready for the wedding. This preparation stage is the single most important part in making sure the event goes smoothly.

Part of the basic consultation, following general wedding standards, covers matters such as: the appropriate order of the ceremony based on both families’ backgrounds, a venue suited to the couple’s needs, guest count, the right amount of food to prepare for the number invited,    timing of the event, the style and type of food suited to the ceremony format,  table arrangement and floor plan,  coordinating with the various vendor teams, as well as the wedding script, decoration ideas, color choices, outfit selection, hijab styling, advice on relatives’ attire, activities for relatives and guests, aesthetic matters, and many other technical wedding details, plus anything else the couple requests consultation on.

Running the wedding day — our staff and team stay with the couple from start to finish

This part covers general oversight from start to finish on the day, led by the Wedding Specialist and team. Staff members stay with the couple throughout the event, letting them know what needs to happen next. There is staff to look after guests in general, providing information to regular guests as well as senior and VIP guests about each person’s place in the order of the ceremony.    An emcee assistant keeps everyone informed from before the ceremony begins through to when it starts.    There is also a team on hand to solve unexpected issues as they come up, as well as to coordinate with any other teams the couple has hired — such as the hotel’s own team, the decoration team, or others — helping every team resolve problems so the event runs smoothly from start to finish, within the general scope of day-of coordination.

All of the above is the general scope of the service — there are still many more details that come up on the day itself.

Lastly, before we hopefully get the chance to work together, here’s something you should know: as a Wedding Specialist, I hold one belief very firmly — “no amount of money, however large, can buy a truly good wedding.” Money may help you have a beautiful wedding, but it doesn’t guarantee it will be a memorable one.  A good wedding is one where the happiness is shared by everyone — not just the groom, not just the bride, but everyone who loves you and comes to celebrate with you. Having worked as a wedding consultant — regularly handling Islamic weddings as my main work, and also having had the chance to consult on Christian and Buddhist weddings as a special guest advisor —  I’ve come to one conclusion: no matter the religion, the heart of a wedding is always the same, and that is,

Whenever a couple sets aside their own wants and instead gives weight to family and friends,  placing more importance on the people who will attend than on their own personal beauty or wishes, the event will turn out as beautiful as it possibly can — exactly as it always should be.

This is just a small thought I wanted to share before we hopefully have the chance to work together as bride, groom, and consultant.  See you at the next available slot.
