Meeting Islam for the first time is a big moment — especially when a marriage, and two families, sit behind it. This private, 3-day course walks you through Islam gently and at a human pace, at ARAYA House (INCC), with room for both families to take part.
The course is designed to make an Islamic marriage smooth: it covers core Islamic teachings, marriage preparation for the couple, and guidance on family life together. Beyond religious instruction, it also introduces everyday social skills and Islamic cultural practice — dress, prayer, marriage principles, and family care. Both the bride’s and groom’s families are welcome to take part.

Course Benefits
Participants gain a complete grounding in Islamic marriage, adapting to a new family, prayer practice, and everyday Islamic culture — plus pointers to further resources for continued Islamic learning.
What Taking the Shahada Involves
For students who choose to enter Islam, the step itself is simple and unhurried. In plain terms:
- You take a quiet moment to be clear in your own mind about what you are about to say.
- You recite the shahada — the declaration of faith — two short phrases affirming belief in one God and in the Prophet Muhammad.
- A teacher and, if you wish, your family are present as witnesses — nothing is done in secret and nothing is rushed.
- That’s it — once said, you are a Muslim. Everything else (prayer, practice, community) is a lifelong learning journey that continues afterward, at your own pace.
This is always the student’s own decision, made freely and without pressure — ARAYA’s role is only to teach, guide, and witness respectfully.
