Thailand welcomes travellers from every country, every culture, and every family.
If you are planning a trip to Thailand for a nikah service, a family visit, a holiday, or travel together, ARAYA Nikah sincerely hopes this journey will be a good, safe, and memorable experience for you and your family.
Thailand offers big cities, beaches, nature, historic communities, a rich variety of food, mosques, and family-friendly destinations. Before you set off, however, every traveller should check the requirements that apply to their own nationality, purpose of travel, and length of stay.
The information on this page is only a general guide for initial preparation — it is not legal, visa, or immigration advice.
Rules, regulations, documents, and conditions can change. Always check the latest information with the official authorities, the Royal Thai Embassy or Consulate, and your airline before every trip.
1. Check your passport and visa
Before booking flights and accommodation, please check:
- Your passport’s validity and condition
- That the name on your flight ticket matches your passport
- Visa-exemption eligibility for your nationality
- The visa type that fits your purpose of travel
- How long you are permitted to stay in Thailand
- Any additional conditions from the embassy and your airline
Requirements can differ by nationality. The fact that one person can enter Thailand without a visa does not mean every travel companion has the same right.
Check details and apply for a Thailand e-Visa →
If you are travelling to work, study, stay long-term, register a marriage, or complete other legal procedures, check whether you need a specific visa or documents.
2. Check whether you must complete the TDAC
Foreign travellers passing through immigration should check whether they must complete the Thailand Digital Arrival Card (TDAC).
The TDAC is a pre-arrival travel declaration form. It generally asks for information about:
- Your passport
- Your flight or journey
- Your accommodation in Thailand
- Your purpose of travel
- Your contact details
The TDAC is not a visa and does not guarantee entry into Thailand. Permission to enter the country rests with the immigration officers.
Check and complete the TDAC on the official website →
Use only the official website ending in immigration.go.th, and verify carefully before entering personal information or making payments on any other website.
3. Have your travel information ready
Immigration officers or airlines may ask to see supporting information depending on your type of travel, such as:
- Accommodation bookings
- A return or onward ticket
- Your purpose of travel
- Your planned length of stay
- Proof of funds
- Contact details in Thailand
- Other documents depending on nationality or visa type
Always give truthful information, and make sure the details in your passport, visa, flight tickets, accommodation, and other documents are consistent with one another.
We recommend keeping copies of important documents on your phone and in your email, and sending copies to a family member or trusted person in case of emergency.
4. Check what you can bring into Thailand
Some items may be prohibited, quantity-restricted, or require a permit before being brought into Thailand, for example:
- Certain medicines and health products
- Food and animal products
- Certain plants, seeds, and fruit
- Pets
- Controlled goods
- Cash or certain high-value assets
If you need to carry personal medication, keep it in its original packaging with a doctor’s letter or certificate where required, and check the rules before you travel.
Do not carry bags, parcels, medicines, or items for other people if you do not know exactly what is inside.
Check the Thai Customs Department information →
5. Follow the conditions of your stay
While in Thailand, travellers must:
- Not overstay the permitted period
- Not work without the correct visa or work permit
- Not engage in activities inconsistent with their visa type
- Comply with Thai law
- Keep track of their own permitted stay end-date
- Contact the Immigration Bureau before their stay expires if further steps are needed
Do not wait until the last day. If you have any doubts about your length of stay, extensions, or immigration status, contact the Immigration Bureau or a suitably qualified professional in advance.

6. Getting around Thailand comfortably and safely
Thailand has many kinds of transport — urban rail, trains, buses, boats, taxis, ride-hailing apps, and domestic flights.
To make travelling easier:
- Save your accommodation’s name and address in Thai
- Arrange internet access via SIM or eSIM
- Use reputable transport services or travel companies
- Check prices and details before using a service
- Keep your passport, money, and valuables secure
- Do not sign documents you do not understand
- Take out appropriate travel and medical insurance
Thailand’s currency is the Thai Baht (THB). Credit cards are accepted in many places, but small shops, markets, and some kinds of transport may only accept cash or domestic payment methods.

7. Travel for Muslim families
Thailand has Muslim communities, mosques, halal restaurants, and family-friendly destinations in many provinces — especially Bangkok, the South, and the major tourist cities.
Before travelling, plan for:
- Halal restaurants or suitable food
- Prayer spaces and prayer times
- Distances between destinations
- Travel arrangements for children and elderly family members
- Restrooms and facilities
- Appropriate dress for religious sites and communities
- Weather and seasons
- Opening hours and holidays of the places you plan to visit
The term “Muslim-friendly” does not always mean every service is halal-certified. Travellers should verify restaurants, prayer facilities, and the services they intend to use directly with the provider before travelling.
Thailand is a country of religious and cultural diversity. Respecting the rules of each place, dressing modestly, and asking permission before photographing people or private areas will keep your journey smooth and leave a good impression on everyone.
8. If you are travelling for a nikah service
Booking a service with ARAYA Nikah is a booking of services only, within the scope stated in your quotation, agreement, or package details.
A service booking is not a visa application or approval, and is not an assurance that a customer will be permitted to:
- Depart from their country of origin
- Board a flight
- Enter Thailand
- Stay in Thailand for the planned period
- Return home or travel onward to another country
- Use the nikah documents for legal purposes in any particular country
Customers are responsible for checking their own passport, visa, permitted stay, travel documents, and the requirements of their country of origin, Thailand, and any country where the documents will be used.
ARAYA can provide information about its nikah services, the nikah process, and work within the company’s scope of service, but cannot decide, certify, or make commitments on behalf of:
- Embassies or consulates
- Airlines
- Immigration officers
- The Customs Department
- Thai or foreign government agencies
- Registrars or document-legalisation authorities
- External service providers
If your journey involves civil marriage registration, residence rights, migration, nationality, or the use of documents abroad, seek advice directly from the relevant official authorities or qualified legal professionals.
