A Nikah Safe Space for Every Couple
ARAYA

Religious-only Nikah (Shariah)

⚠ Service condition: the Shariah Nikah Service is available only when BOTH partners come from countries without Shariah law — e.g. Thailand · Japan · South Korea · China · Vietnam and other similar countries. If either partner’s country applies Shariah/Islamic family law, please use the legally-effective route or talk to our team first.

ARAYA’s Nikah Service comes in 2 certificate routes — you are reading: Religious-only nikah (Shariah) · the other route: Legally-effective nikah →

Overview

Religious-only Nikah (Shariah) is the route that is fully Islamic: the certificate is issued by ARAYA’s Shariah board after our screening system. It is faster and needs fewer documents — but the certificate has no legal effect and cannot be legalised at a consulate. You can hold the ceremony simple (Express) or full-scale with guests and a hosted setting.

No secret nikah — every marriage we support is disclosed properly to family and community, to protect the couple’s marital standing under Islamic practice.

Who it’s for

  • Couples for whom religious validity is what matters, with no legal use of the document
  • Couples on a short preparation timeline — this route is faster to prepare
  • Couples already civil-registered, or handling the legal side through another channel

If you need the documents to carry legal effect or go to a consulate, see the Legally-effective nikah route.

Documents & time

Fewer, basic documents and a shorter preparation time than the legally-effective route · the ceremony takes ~30 minutes, allow a full day · your personal document list comes with the quotation; see the document checklist for the overview.

To be completely clear: the Shariah certificate is a religious document only — it is not a civil marriage registration, and it cannot be legalised at a consulate. ARAYA states this openly before every decision.
